Photo Composition

In this photo we can see "Leading Lines" on the floor of the picture. If we follow the lines we can conclude that the main point on the picture is see the players how they are getting  after the numbers. It means it is a race or run where it would be only one winer.

In this photo we can see "The rule of thirds"were we can put the picture on 6 or 9 litter squares to see clear the picture and accommodate it. In this picture we can move the man talking in other place or the sky in other place and after all we can transmit the same picture. It means that if we change the position it would not change the subject.

In this picture we can see "The background" because it not call attention because is the same color and is a neutral color. The main point of view is the race of  boys on their bicycles. And when we see the picture we concentrate just in them because we are not distracted by other thing on the picture.

In this photo we  can see "Balancing Elements" because the picture are balanced not to go to the right neither to the left but on the center. For example the circles are placed in a way that are balanced and the thing on the middle and the things on the left and right above the circles are also balanced. It means that on the picture are equivalent things that makes the photo be the same weight.

Self portraits and portraits

Step 1

Tip 1: Bring Something to Focus On
The problem that I saw when I looked through my viewfinder was that I didn't have anything to focus on aside from the items in the far distance. This of course would make for a perfectly blurry photo of me, which isn't at all what I wanted.

Tip 2: Use your imagination!
A self-portrait can reveal a lot about you, by including props and even other people that are meaningful in your life.

Step 2
I pick this environmental portrait picture because I like how it looks, like if you were inside of their setting or if you are feeling or living the same they feel.

I pick this environmental portrait picture because the image or picture has a kind of position were the environment can show you how it feels be over there.

Step 3

I pick this picture for casual portrait because it looks informal like if they do not know about someone  whose going to take them a picture so they react with the first funny face or natural position that they got.

I pick this photo for casual portrait because it looks natural like if someone told her that looks were the camera is at or the photographer is and she just did a natural smile with a girly position.

Step 4

I pick this picture for its formal portrait because it looks like if the the man was an important  business man and that they took that picture to show him, and seems like a honored man.

I pick this photo for informal portrait because it loos very formal because of the setting and the man stand on the main idea of the picture with a suit that means is a serious issue that's why its seems important en formal.

Step 5

This picture is a self portrait and we can see it because of the camera and her showing maybe how she feel about or how the picture can seems good.

I pick this picture for a self portrait because it seems like she was taking herself a picture but with a good position and showing how she is, how is she feeling.

"Great Black and White Photographers Part 3"

1- I choose Emmet Gowin because of his photos, something that caught my eyes was that he took photos to unknown  figures such objects, backgrounds and people with different points of view.

  • I see lines in all directions and a the end trees around the circle that I am and the second one I see disfigure figures a like wavy figures and roads everywhere. And I see rocks  or little roads.
  • I smell grass because is the most part of the pictures. Also I smell fresh air and ground.
  • I hear the air, birds and myself breathing.
  • I taste grass, ground and natural air.
  • I feel the the grass itching on my skin. I feel the emotion of freedom, happiness, without problems, remembering.

3- I would like to create like a web page where Emmet Gowin fans can show what they like Emmet pictures most and everybody can share their opinions about him. And we can spread the page through the Facebook, twitter, instagram or talking with friends. And at the end if there is to many people who likes him, we can create a art presentation in a museum.

Mural Project Preview

1- The theme that I would use in my mural for Akins is going to be about different types of style because everybody on the school has a different personality and despite that you can see the unity of every student and I want to capture every style they wear everyday to school how every people is different to others.

2- It requires time and dedication to take the pictures because you need to see through their clothes their personality. The students would be interested to this theme because maybe they want to found their personality.

3- The advantages for taking the pictures with the phone are too many for example you don't need to carry something heavy, and whenever you want take a picture you can do it very quickly. The disadvantages are that you can't do zoom very well or focus.

4-The advantages for taking the pictures with a SLR camera are that you can focus and do zoom very well and it makes it very interesting. The disadvantages are that you need to carry everyday because you can lose a moment when you can take a good picture.

5- We should use both, because we need practice with both and both has different advantages.

Power Point

1-- When I saw the power point I was impress for the amazing pictures that he took and because despite the pictures was in black and white the pictures was clearly and perfect.

2-

3- This picture with a tree and a tiger on the tree was my favorite picture because the picture isn't common and was clear.

4- It has the rule of simplicity because he capture just the objects that he want to us notice.

  •  He use a Pentax 6x7 camera.
  • The reason why Nick took this photos was because he was frustrated because he could not capture on film his feelings about and love for animals, he realized there was a way to achieve this through photography, in a way that he felt no-one had really done before.

He writes: "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close.

Academic shoot reflection

1- The challenges that I had when I  took the pictures was that I didn't remember the rules so well.
2- With the camera that I took the pictures with I had to focus every time I took a picture because every time it seems like blurred.
3-Now that I know what we need to do or what we are taking I will going again and take better pictures.
4-I would focus again every time I take a picture.
5- I think the rule of simplicity would be the most easy to take because it is just focus on an object.
6- I think the rule of thirds would be the hardest to take a picture because you need to figure out how it can change.
7- The rule or thirds is the rule that I'm not totally sure what it is and to figure out what it is I can see some examples on internet.

Post Shoot Reflection

http://marisolsierra1.blogspot.com/2013/09/black-and-white-photographic.html

I think one thing that Marisol can improve on her photos is that capture her photos with more light and that she need to put balance her photos.
She did really well capturing exactly the points that we need other thing that she did well was the last picture because we can see clearly the girl's face.

Elements of ART and Principles of Design in photography.

 Elements of art
Lines are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.

I chose this painting because it has different colors and it, are parallel  lines.

I chose this picture because it has perpendicular lines on the wood's floor.

Shapes are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet. Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.
I chose this painting because has different kinds of shapes and colors.

I chose this picture because it has figures that we can recognize.

Color wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors. They also show the relationships between complementary colors across from each other, such as blue and orange; and analogous (similar or related) colors next to each other such as yellow, green, and blue. Black and white may be thought of as colors but, in fact, they are not. White light is the presence of all color; black is the absence of reflected light and therefore the absence of color.
I chose this painting because we can see different kind of colors in all directions.
I chose this picture because the lights reflects different kinds of principal colors.

Value, or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.  Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.

I chose this painting because of the changes of value and tone, the shadow on the objects with black gray and white.

I chose this picture because reflects very good the point of change of shadow, value and tone depending on the position or place.

Form describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.

I chose this painting because has different form and in one form create another form so is awesome.
I chose this picture because I can describe how the motorcycle looks like a three-dimensional object and has different forms, litter and bigger.

Texture can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless.  Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork.
I choose this painting because show or transmit different textures to our eyes.

I choose this picture for the texture on the wall and floor because we can see it clear how is it.

Space refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece. Space can be positive (white or light) or  negative (black or dark), open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
I choose this painting because I can see clearly the separation between both slice of pay.
I choose this picture because I see the table's separation.

Principles of design

Balance is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art.  There are three different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The human figure is symmetrically balanced; the same on the left and right side. The tree is asymmetrically balanced; its branches are not distributed equally on each side, but their total weight is balanced left and right. The sun is an example of radial balance; all its rays are equal in length from the center.
I choose this painting because has a perfect balance although the girl is sitting on the side.
I choose this picture because the egg shows a perfect balance in both side of the picture.

Contrast is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values. Contrast creates interest in a piece and often draws the eye to certain areas. It is used to make a painting look interesting.
I chose this painting because the light and the shadow create a contrast on the girl.
I chose this picture because I like how was it taken and the contrast of all the colors on the photo.

Emphasis in the focal area of an artwork gives it importance.  An artist may stress some elements of the design over others. The eye of the viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition.

I choose this painting because it show perfect the emphasis with the bird and the books.
I choose this picture because it show perfectly how emphasis works for example here we want to show the lips but is obstructed by the broken sky.

Movement in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.  Movement is a visual flow through the composition. It can be the suggestion of motion in a design as you move from object to object by way of placement and position.  Directional movement can be created with a value pattern. It is with the placement of dark and light areas that you can move your attention through the format.

I choose this painting because it has the technique to show that the horse is running.

I choose this picture because we can see how they are dancing in extremely movements.

Patterns are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.  Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of paintings or sculptures.
I choose this painting because I saw the same pattern going and going again.
I choose this picture because it show exactly the pattern in this case the same trees again and again.

Rhythm is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms.  Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly.  Like a dance, it will have a flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.
I choose this painting because  has a square rhythm.
I choose this picture because has a circle's rhythm.

Unity means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony.  Unity brings together a composition with similar units.  For example, if your composition was using wavy lines and organic shapes you would stay with those types of lines and not put in even one geometric shape.
I choose this painting because has a unity of wavy in the whole painting.
I choose this picture because I notice the same unity on the tree's picture.
